The figures in each column are prices per thousand board feet of kiln-dried lumber purchased in quantities of 1000 bd/ft and 200 bd/ft. (Divide these numbers by 1,000 to get median per-board-foot prices for respective species and grades.)

These are estimated distribution-yard prices for rough lumber; actual pricing may vary by distributor.

FAS stands for firsts and seconds, typically the best grade of kiln-dried, hardwood lumber. #1 Common is a lower grade, often used in cabinet and furniture making where piece sizes are smaller and defects can be eliminated by selective cutting.

All prices are based on a net tally or measurement after kiln drying.
