Thickness:
Enter the nominal thickness of the lumber. Nominal thickness of hardwood lumber is traditionally the minimum thickness when green or air-dried. For pieces under 1-inch thick (such as 3/4) use a nominal thickness of 1-inch.

Length:
Enter lumber length reducing if necessary to the nearest foot. Any inches entered (in length) will not be considered during the calculation. This is accepted practice when calculating hardwood lumber board footage.

Width:
Enter the actual width -including fractions of inches.
