Glueing stainless steel to wood12/27
I have glued down a 6" wide by 42" long pc of stainless but it doesn't seem to stay down. We have tried contact cement and construction adhesive neither one worked. Now on to the third attempt? Any suggestions?
Abrade the stainless with 60 or 80 grit hand paper.
Bond it down with a true poly adhesive like Sika Flex or 3m 5200. These are not "Gorilla" type poly glues.
LARRY, if you have a cold press there are many modified PVA's that can be used with one porous to one non porous material.
Larry, you should use Hybrid Polymer 600 for gluing stainless steel bar on wood. My usage at home shows that its 5cm length glue line stainless steel bar on wood can hang a 18kgs on without detaching.
