I have a lower end edgebander, which I asked some questions about on here a month or so ago. Thank you for all of the answers, they were very helpful.
I have been banding veneer core and MDF sheets since then with no problems, good performance from the bander. Doing a pull test, I pretty much have to wrap the banding around my hand to get it to pull off.
I have my first particle core job coming up (since getting the bander), and did some tests. I am not getting what I would call great results. Sure, it adheres, but once I get something dug under one end (a fingernail or screwdriver), I can pull it off fairly easily.
Any suggestions? I am using the same table saw to cut the PC sheets as the VC/MDF sheets. Brand new, good quality melamine blade. The bander is set to the same temp...
The bander has a glue flow control, to control how much goes on the band. Should I turn it up? I am reluctant to turn it up too much, lest I just end up making a giant mess.
Is this just the quality of adhesion I should expect with PC sheets on a cheaper edgebander?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
Bill
