I am bidding a couple of jobs that have an aluminum 'U' channel 3/4" x 1/2" that is used as a reveal between 3/4" panels. A portion of this detail is on a curved wall. Can the channel be bent to follow the curve or is there a source for pre-bent channel? If it can be bent, what is the minimum radius that it can be bent to before it kinks? Any other info is appreciated. Thanks.
It can be rolled to a radius, a local steel fabricator may do this for you. It is a hand operation so a template should be provided.
work out the angle on the panels, we did this once and it looked great !
You might try "Fry Reglet Co"
I suggest going with the local pros. Any sheet metal shop can tell you what can and can't be done.
You might consider an alternate of a metal laminate reveal strip on the wall and edging the panels in metal to create the same look except you don't get the thickness of the channel edges
