Engineered door stiles10/17
Not sure where to post but I will be building a couple Mahogany doors soon and was wondering if anyone can give me a ball park price on the cost of engineered stiles.
There are dozens of options, you would have to be more specific. You can try Lexington Mfg in Coon Rapids, MN, they specialize in commercial door components (I don't work for them, but have bought from them in the past. They are very good at what they do.)
I priced them once several years ago and while I don't remember what the quote was, I know it was cheaper for me to do them in house. YMMV….
You can make them yourself we use LVL; we get the shorts from our local lumber yard. We rip them and glue whatever type of lumber we need to match face on the sides. Then resaw a thick veneer for face and back, bag press them there you go.
