Bi-fold window hardware?11/13
Hey guys, I need to make 3 sets of interior bi-fold windows. They do not have to be weather tight. But they do need to operate nicely. I would like a simple track for the top and nothing on the bottom.
I am about to resort to a standard bi-fold door track kit.
Any one have some suggestions to help?
Thanks in advance guys
I have never cared for the standard bi-fold hardware, even for the doors. I often have to bi-fold interior shutters, and there is definitely some much better track systems out there. There are also options with some brands, based on panel weight and panel thickness, which is a big plus. I like the fact that the skates used in some brands have better quality, which makes for a smoother operation. I know Hafele has some available, most of mine I get from specialized shutter suppliers, but also have a supplier that I am sure you can buy from. Can't think of their name, but will get it on Monday for you.
Thanks mike , I appreciate the feedback
I don't want to seem lazy, I have browsed their website and don't happen to see any bi-fold hardware. Do you have an name or brand of a product you've seen? Or was this a suggestion of somewhere to look.
Regardless I will call when they are open
I have a Outwater catalog that is very detailed in offering a good selection of bi-fold hardware. The book is several years old, but I have been using other providers for some time now. The quick look I made yesterday of the website, seemed more limited in choices than the book did. Hopefully your call will reveal more information. If not, let me know, I will look up those numbers. I can scan and email them if needed. What do you estimate the weight of the windows to be?
I use Brio bifold hardware which I think may be available in the US.
Their website has full pdf and cad files.
Most bifold manufacturers seem to be Australian, so must be very common over there.
