Replacement single pane sashes for restoration3/6
I've got a customer wanting me to make new single pane sashes for the old plantation home she has inherited and wanting to restore. While I am capable of making them, I'd much rather find someone who specializes in this and already has all the tooling set up.
Back when I was younger, I knew of several shops within a mile or two of here, but their gone now. Are there still any old shops around suppling the restoration needs?
I would suppose some of you with CNC tooling could knock out the parts that I could job this out to?
Where is the client located? I'm assuming somewhere in the South given the plantation home. The company I work for (Rangate) specializes in window/door tooling. Feel free to send me a message with the specs on the window being discussed. It's like I can point you to someone who is tooled up and specializes in this kind of work in the area.
We specialize in restoring historic sashes as well as making accurate replication for the historic market.
We are also a tooling customer of Rangate.
It could be that your customers existing sashes are restorable, provided that they are olg growth wood. I find that customers are very poor judges of what is restorable. Any way, we can make new if that is the preferred route.
We are located in Mobile, AL. My cell is (954) 817-6400
