software for designing 3D, 2D, Cutting lists and pricing12/29
Hello my good colleagues,
how is life in general with you all,
Can anyone please introduce to me a software that design 3D, 2D, Cutting lists and pricing for cabinets.
Your comments will be appreciated.
What are you building? There are lots of software programs available from very inexpensive or even free to very specialized and quite expensive. It all depends on what you are building now and what you think you'll be building five years or longer from now.
Once you make the time and cash investment in software, it's totally avoidable to make the wrong decision on what to get if you are honest with yourself and on what you plan to be making for years to come. You won't want to go back to manual methods once you have started down the software path.
Thanks so much for your response.
I need the software kitchen cabinets and wardrobe
I assume when you say wardrobe, you are describing a free standing cabinet or furniture piece. If not, please post either a photo or a drawing of what you call a wardrobe.
I clicked on Woodweb's product directory tab at the top of this page, and looked under the computer software link. Here it is:http://www.woodweb.com/ProductDirectory/PDComputerSoftware.html
Listed there are many suppliers, most of which are North America or Western Europe based. I don't know where you are located, but if you are in North America or Western Europe, I'm fairly sure you would have software support available, if not a local dealer or sales rep.
Here's a list I pulled from the directory of most of the design software companies who likely offer what you said you want:
Click on the links on the names in the Woodweb directory to learn more. The only free one on the list is from ECabinet Systems.
Support and training are important in some of the more sophisticated programs. In just about every case, there is a huge learning curve before you can begin to start drawing and producing accurate cut lists and 3D photo realistic drawings. Some of the suppliers have training available for their products at no or little charge. Others offer training at fairly costly price points. In any case, you'll be spending dozens/hundreds of hours learning the program and its capabilities.
There are other software companies listed on the directory who have other software available that has other purposes, like pricing, ERP, CNC programming, business planning, inventory control etc. etc. So if you find design software you like, but it doesn't do pricing, you can find a pricing software separately.
The most popular ones for cabinetry in the US are
Most of the software vendors offer free trial periods, and nearly all of them exhibit at the summer trade shows in the US. It would likely be worth your time to attend IWF Atlanta in August 2016 Or KBIS/Builders Show in Las Vegas in January 2016 so you can see in person what the major players offer. Good luck in your search.
