Project Tracking / PM Software3/15
We are a small cabinet shop (roughly $2M/year) that is expanding quickly and have already outgrown our Excel spreadsheet method of tracking, scheduling & managing jobs.
What is everyone else out there using in regards to software that not only tracks and helps schedule jobs, but also is used by other areas of the company (i.e. accounting, shop foreman, PMs, finishing, install, etc.)? We really want to get rid of the 5 or 6 spreadsheets we are using now and that all have to be updated individually and consolidate all the information into one piece of software. We use Cabinet Vision and started looking at Tractivity, but have not seen any reviews on this and it sounds like they are about to come out with a new version.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
I'd suggest taking a hard look at ProjectPAK and ShopPAK.
It is a true challenge to optimally schedule multiple, concurrent, diverse projects which have stringent due dates and a need to share many common resources (including multi-functional machines and multi-skilled workers). If you face such challenge on a daily basis, you may take a look at a brief YouTube video of our scheduling software, Schedlyzer Lite. It is the most powerful scheduling tool for resource-constrained, multi-project scheduling.
This is my direct, open response to your inquiry.
