how do i get closet jobs6/14
I am planning on starting up a small shop. i really want to get into doing closets but i dont know how to get those jobs. i need help
It's simple. Build a closet. Your closet. A closet for your parents. For a friend. Any closet will do. Then take nice pictures - and post to social media with a brief description and contact info.
That's how you get "into it" Starting a business making custom anythings is quite a long conversation.
Please do your homework, making sure you understand that the most important part of "Starting a closet company" is making a profit. You'll need to be a businessperson 1st, and then have a good understanding of closet design, and lastly, a closet builder.
Stick around WoodWeb, read knowledge base discussions, there's lots of good info. Bad advice is shut down pretty d**n quick around here.
There is a full day symposium on closets at the AWFS fair next month in Vegas. I've got a custom cabinet shop and I've got the same questions you do, so I'm going to hopefully get some answers.
Follow the previous advice so you have something to show off. Build a VERY simple website on squarespace.com and post pics on Houzz. Now you are starting to look like a legitimate business instead of a trunk-slammer. Ask customers to post reviews of your work on Houzz.
The other thing you need is to get in the door of your customer's house. A friend of mine installs rollout shelves, while he is there installing shelves, he reminds the homeowner that he also does closets. At least half the time he gets another sale.
