Vanity with Vessel sink5/29
Have not done a lot of vanities with vessel sinks. If the sink is 5" high and does not recess any into the top, what should the height of the top from floor be? Sink faucet is mounted on cabinet top. This is for average height people.
My suggestion is to look online at lowes, Home Depot, etc and see what theirs is. Ive only done one.
Eliminating any code or ADA requirements it is then to the need of the user. mine is 5" on top of a 34" deck
I have done suspended cabinets at 31 so the bowl top is 36 AFF
really comes down to design and user
A standard vanity top is 32" to 34" The sink is usually flush with the top. I would deduct the height of the vessel sink from the cabinet to make the top of the sink 34"
Thanks Gary & James. That was kinda what I was figuring. Most of the vanities I build lately finish out at 36" from FF. If I do the vanity at 31"- 32", this will be about the same height to the top of the bowl. Always good to get a second opinion though.
We've done quite a few of these and it seems like 36" to the top of the sink is about right. Anything less seems to be too short for most customers, even though we run most regular vanities at 34" to the top.
