Does Fastenlink work?8/29
Just returned from IWF very inspired (and somehow refreshed). I was extremely intrigued with the Fastenlink doweling system (one of the Challenger's award winners). As I'm trying to move toward the doweling process, which is very expensive, I like the idea of possibly not having to buy a case clamp. I will order their trial package to play around with but wondered if any of you have tried this out yet and how you were liking it - or is it just "pie in the sky"? Thanks for your input!
From what I understand, they even have the UCS worked out to create this as an intellijoint in CV.
That looks cool.
How do they accommodate different thickness material?
How much are the fasteners? are you dependent on one source for these?
Are they accepted by AWI or WI?
Have you looked at TenonCam?
It does seem like a cool system which is why I'm going to start playing with it and see if it is a good fit for us. They only have 8mm dowels at this time but it sounded like there may be other sizes to come in time. I believe they have already been accepted by WI. The fasteners are about $500 per 5000 according to their web site: https://fastenlink.com/
Yes, I looked at the tenoncam but it still doesn't eliminate the ugly look of "seen" fasteners or being able to flat pack certain things.
