Concealed hinge boo boo

I've got a couple doors that I've bored and put hinges in and I should have hinged them on the other side. I'd rather not remake these doors, they're complicated. Is there a way or product that I can buy to plug or cover the holes that will look good? I can get plugs to glue and insert but it would require finishing, just looking for a better way. Thanks

Maybe surface the stile about a 1/16" deep on a router table, fill the holes, then cut a piece of shop sawn veneer and glue it on?

Haffele has some different hole covers. I believe they have a round one and a traingular one if you have bored for screws/dowels. I don't know if they meet the" look good" criteria but you don't have many options.

I second the Door Shop Guy's suggestion. I have had to do this before on door I messed up for a cabinet I repaired in my own utility room.
It worked so well I wouldn't hesitate to use it to repair doors I was making for a customer.

Not sure where I got it but was fairly recently that I purchased a tapered plug cutter for hinge holes.

I've fixed a few of those over the years using a 1-3/8" plug cutter. Match the grain if possible using scrap from the stiles and rails. I turn the bored scrap on edge and use my bandsaw to cut the plug out so it ends up about 3/8" thick. Then just glue it in and sand it off.
If you have one of the router bit & bushing sets for inlays, you could make a perfect patch. It just takes longer.

I believe I saw Rockler hardware had pre cut plugs in various wood species for fixing missed drilled hinge holes

I have cut plugs on the CNC, works well. Mine were on the hinge side so didn't show much. If yours are on the opposite side do the right thing and fill the holes then run thru a table saw to cut down the back stile and glue in a piece of wood or veneer full length. It then would be a lengthwise seam and not be noticeable. Something less more than likely will piss your customer off and come back to bite you.

Thanks for the responses. I ended up routing a rectangle out and filling it with a plug. Should work well since it's a painted door.

It would have been nice to know it was paint grade on your first post. That's a no brainer.

If you would have read my post more carefully you would have seen that I was looking for some sort of plug or cap to get away from refinishing.

Mike, what is the confusion? Bondo and paint it
