Edging High gloss white panels
12/12/16
I am trying to edge tape on high gloss white panels. Glue line is still visible. I need suggestion how to minimize glue line visibility. When using white glue it is ok, but it takes so long to switch glue color. Any recommendation what glue is the best to use so I don't have to switch it.
I heard about PUR polyurethane glue but I am scare to use it because of ruining glue pot. My edge bender is SCM 208 K. Any advise will be welcome.

Hi Bob,
You may want to consider outsourcing it to someone like us with the new AirTech capabilities. There will always be a border effect on white with standard gluepot technology. I'm attaching two examples of the new banding on 3/4" White melamine.

I am considering to upgrade edgebender, just waiting for some prices. I am wondering what will be price for air tech edge bender if you don't mind to pass the price

Dorus has a unfilled glue that is almost clear.
It results in a thinner glue line and might be a good option. It is KS351

Yes, the unfilled clear glue certainly helps. So does pre-milling. We use that on everything now that isn't AirTech. Any color other than white looks almost seamless. But, we still get a border on white like I discussed above. If I can find an example I'll add it to this post next week.

Your bevel setting should be less and you are cutting into face, we use 1mm high gloss tape with natural or white glue on a Cehisa ep-9 and we file by hand, not as good as the newest machines with laser edge? But customers love it.
