I want to replace a 3 big wheel stock feeder we have on a shaper with a stock feeder that can run small parts.
We mainly use this shaper for stile & rails.
I had seen some feeders that run with a belt instead of wheels but cant remember where.
Can anyone recommend a good stock feeder that can handle small parts?
shopgear is distributor for comatic. google and give them a call. i think you're thinking of a track feeder. o
You can also buy just the track kit and keep your feeder. You just swap out the wheels for the ones that come with the track and install the belts.
Thanks Jeff! :-)
The Western Roller setup is good. I've been having them send belts with the lugs removed because they seem to work better for the rails that we need them for. You need less pressure and less toe-in with a belted feeder, which will also improve the belt life.
Comatic is supposed to have a new variable speed feeder with many small diameter polyurethane wheels coming onto the market this year. That's what I will be looking at on the dedicated sticking setup.
What you need is a Track Feeder, you can get one cheap in Grizzly.com web page
I use a three wheel grizzly for stiles, no problems.
