I'm looking to increase the efficiency of edge laminating in our factory.
We are doing a lot of floating shelves in laminate board and then hand laminating the front edges. Also when we send doubled up panels for two pack painting we laminate the front edge so that the glue line of panel join doesn't eventually crack.
We currently use spray adhesive, let it tack up and use a Makita trimmer with a flush ball bearing trim bit to trim, then hand file to clean up.
When the glue supply runs out I am going to invest in this tensorgrip setup as I understand it's more cost efficient and quicker and more consistent to use.
I'm interested in the festool laminate trimmers. Iv'e never used one and the videos online don't really show me why I should spent about 10x the price on one of these compared to a normal laminate trimmer.
Would love to hear from anyone who ones one and if it greatly boosts efficency and quality.
I have also seen people edge parts in 1mm edging before sending off for two pack painting. This seems like a great time saver but I am sceptical of that glue line eventually cracking. Thoughts or experience?
Thankyou
