Toe skins finish at 3" from door or 3" case?
4/26/17
Looking for an industry standard. We have always done 4" tall and 3" back from door face to finished skin face. Is this correct?
Thanks

we cut ours 4 1/4" tall x 2 1/2" deep and apply a 1/4" skin in front of that. I think you will find as many different measurements as there are cabinetmakers.

We do the same thing. 4 inches high. 3 inches from door to finished toe kick. Not sure if it's the industry standard but we've never had a problem doing it this way.

I use to do mine at 4" tall but because of the toe kick heaters that usually get included in kitchens I've increased my norm to 4 1/2" tall. I make mine 3" from the front of the cabinet whether that's the face frame of an inset door or the front of the door in an overlay/Euro cabinet.

Curious. I thought 4" up and 3" back from face of door was the norm. Anyone else?
Thanks

We still do our deck at 4 1/4"!high( throw back to the days of 2x4" on edge with 3/4" deck). With a 1" face frame flushed with top of deck it only leaves about 3" toekick. Never have any trouble until we do DW wood front and try to line the front up with bottom of adjacent cabinets. When DW folds down it collides underneath. So we change to 4" whenever DW panels are required. Need to make the change permanent. Just haven't had time to change cabinet ware
