I thought wine barrels were made out ot rift white oak. Is it not the tannic acid and the charring of the barrel that gives wine its character?
Please enlighten me
Thanks

I looked that up after reading the original post. I knew water tanks were made of redwood, but never redwood wine barrels. What I did find, mixing and holding vats were made of redwood, but then put in oak to age. So I guess they are out there.

Mission Bell has both the redwood and white oak. Both barrel staves and barrel covers. Their inventory varies depending on what they have salvaged and what they have sold.

Sorry, I misread the original post,
He is looking for a supplier of the lumber from old redwood vats that used to store wine in the mixing process.
That must make for a beautiful project, I love to see the finished product when it is done.
Thanks
