Large glass showcase doors11/15
I'm looking at a showcase project. This is a commercial project and it will have glass doors 18 to 20"" wide x 52" tall.
Try the C.R. Laurence company for hinges. They have variety of glass door hinges, including the type you describe.
Most likely, your local glass shop will order these for you. Cutting and tempering of glass is very specialized and there are not a lot of shops that can do this. If you can find out who the fabricator is and if you can establish an account, you will save yourself some money and you will gain a supplier that has a lot of knowledge. I am in Michigan and I use Glass Source.
How thick are you going to make these doors? Your supplier should be able to help you here. I would think these doors would have to be at least 3/8" thick. Know the weight of these doors before you determine the hinges you will use. Also, when glass is tempered, it can shrink and it can warp.
I would ask my glass supplier for a recommendation on the hinges and like the post above said, CR Lawrence is a good source.
