Retiring and looking for cabinet makers to fill in4/2
Hello group! I'm partially retiring from my cabinet making shop that is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and I like to find somebody who is a real cabinet maker to take over. Someone who knows their way around the shop including spray finishes. I ran the shop by myself for many years and I am looking for someone that can do the same and maybe get a helper for him. I don't want to let go of everything and I would keep the website going and do all the estimates and sign up the work. I would also be in the shop instructing and supervising the installations.
Is there anyone here or if you know someone that can fit the bill? I'd be grateful if you can put someone in touch with this thread.
So you want to sell your business but still want to control it? That's going to be one rare bird that would agree to that!
I don't see that you have thought this thru very thoroughly.
The set up above will fail/when the former owner disagrees with new, current owner on some thing or two. The old guy is told to retire, he is hurt that his shop is being ruined. Nasty stuff all around.
The best thing is to be harshly realistic, and bring all this out before andy deals are made.
I did not read that he wanted to sell it .
I didn't understand that he wanted to retire. I think that he wants to hire someone who can run the shop and maybe have a helper. He would still own the business but wants or needs to get out of the shop part of it.
The title says retiring and looking for cabinet makers to fill in.
Looks to me that this would be an evolution process. Find someone to come in and assume some of the responsibilities, learn how he likes to run his shop, then if they work together well and the person grows and evolves into a good working relationship,Mike would probably sell to them and move on. He never stated he was selling a turn key operation immediately.
Thanks group but please let me clarify. I am not selling my business, real estate or machinery. I just want to partially retire because I love being involved. I want to find someone to take over the shop work and installations. I will keep the website going, do the estimates, help or supervise installations, and help supervise in the shop. Again, I'm not selling anything and sorry if I made any confusion in my original post. So if anyone here knows of a way I can seek someone out please let me know or if you know someone put them in touch with this thread. Thank you so very much!!!
Do you have employees?
Knowing those things and many more would help attract the right person.
