Drawing times in various software12/13
I am curious as to how long it takes to draw an average size kitchen with software you have.
What software package are you running and how long does it take you to a say 25 cabinet kitchen with a few non standard things like cityscaped uppers.
I think I am spending way too much time with the software I have. Considering changing software so let me know what you love and what you don't. I have been told that certain software providers say you can't make any bad remarks on any forum about their software or they will lock you out of support.
Thanks for your help in advance,
from 30 minutes to 1 hour depending upon complexity.
Cabinet Vision, about the same time.
cabinetvision 20 minutes to 30 minutes
goes pretty fast when deadline isn't over my head. lol we run a lot of commercial casework too
8 hours! And this does not include some engineering after the fact.
We do custom full-overlay cabinetry. We spend at least an hour or more on each flush integrated appliance with panels.
Wondering how our time is so far off?? We certainly aspire to the 1/2 hour per kitchen.
A lot depends on how fast you can draw something out. How much detail, how much off the wall stuff the client wants. I think a big one is how much time and effort you have put into creating your libraries and making them accurate to how you build your product. If you have to modify each and every cabinet from the library, then it's going to take a while. I started out just having a few boxes in the library and then dealing with each one. Figured it was better to have a massive library and just tweak if needed for the odd balls. That way speed can come in design time. Experience with a program makes a huge difference also, just keep playing with it and save often!
