Mosaik for Closets - Anyone Using It?9/14
Hello, first post and new to forums in general. Seriously looking at Mosaik, but would like to know from someone using it, how it is for closets specifically.
Looking for feedback on experience of setting it up for Closet construction methods, fasteners, and also quick/easy use by designers and training for new sales/designers who don't need to know too much about CAD to get rolling and making quick plans on the spot.
Some info about us if relevant to your answers:
Have read many forums on Mosaik, and their product seems to be great and much improved from many complaints of the 2013-2015 days, but lack of a sales department and abrupt/slow replies from their info desk is probably never going to change. Still favour it over 20/20 or CV for simplicity of use.
Don't want to spend $450 just to find out there are deal breakers they could easily tell me, if they had a better relations system in pre-purchase stage.
I have found some of their training videos I guess I shouldn't have access to yet, but think from viewing them that I can make it do all we want. Some questions are yet to be known. (I feel like they could make their videos available open source if they are not going to have a sales dept, and they could really boost sales for new-to-CNC small shops).
We do single gable 32mm floor mount (no ladder/kick box, but we do inset toe kicks of course), and wall-hung systems with steel track and adjustable brackets. We also use double cam (vb fitting) fasteners.
Much appreciate your time and feedback! Thanks, Jay.
I use it more for cabinetry, but have done several closets well. I have my library set to use linebore for hardware. Rafix fasteners and notch verticals for easy hang rail. I think it will do what you want, you will just need to take the time to set up properly.
V 6.1 is updating closets and should include some great new features like auto notch for base mold, hang rail, radius corners, etc.
Thanks for the heads up on the closet updates. Glad to hear they are focusing on the closet world too as they continue to add to their features.
Are there double hole cams/drilling for fixed shelves in the library ("vb fittings" I think they are called), or just the single hole drilled for rafix style in their library?
Know of anywhere I can access their closet training videos pre-purchase?
Yes, the double hole vb style connectors are able to be set up. You can set up to 2 drilling operations per side of the joint. I looked into using that style but it required an additional tool change - 8mm bit for the second hole, in addition to the 20mm and 5mm, if I recall correctly.
I think you need to have mozaik to access training.
I use Mozaik extensively for closets with VB connectors that require 2 holes. Drill bank helps in this regard.
