Z Axis Failure ONSRUD 145G128/15
We have been working on troubleshooting an issue for a few months now on a Panel Pro 145G12, not powering UP Z axis prior to Datum. We know this because when we power on the CNC, it doesn't go to "Ready for Datum" once everything is pressed on. When pressing "Datum" it goes immediately to "Z drive failure"
We have isolated it down to a bad computer by switching it out for a known good computer from our secondary machine and watching the problem follow to the other machine.
We have sent this computer out for repair 2 times and it keeps coming back with the same problem. To ensure it was the computer, each time we swapped it with the KNOWN good one and we have seen the problem follow to the other machine and back.
We also have attempted a FIRMWARE load onto the machine to ensure the correct FIRMWARE is installed. ONSRUD has confirmed that they sent us the correct FIRMWARE but the problem still exist.
No it isn't the Z motor since when we put the known working computer in from the other machine, everything works perfectly. So we know it has something to do with the computer.
1. Either we have been getting the wrong FIRMWARE from ONSRUD, which we loaded the working computer with the same firmware and that computer doesn't have the same problem.
2. The computer that has been "repaired" hasn't been fixed for the correct failure
3. There is another problem that we are not seeing and by putting in the known good computer it is masking it
I am out of ideas and we have been chasing this thing and dealing with sending it out and back for a few months now!
Any advice would be appreciated.
Also we know that we should be seeing ALL "3." on the motors. We are getting all "3" without the decimal point.
I am still leaning towards "Wrong Firmware" or "Input/output computer still not FIXED".
