I have, but only used it on some weird heat resistant ceramic type material. Cut like butter. Next time I have a need for a 3/4" diameter 4 flute tool, I will use it. What are your plans for a tool like that? I have the 2480 in my desk looking for the right application. For those unfamiliar, it is a Up spiral roughing/finisher. Two flutes rough cut, two flutes finish.

Just curious. Wondered if there was any advantage to using them for melamine or mdf.

Extremely high feed rates with a finish cut. We are getting ready to test out our version of the same tool on some Melamine on our machine. I hear feed rates 1800 IPM + all the time. You must have the Machine, proper hold downs, good collets, and the right material and program to achieve these feed rates.

I haven't tried that particular one but we have used Vortex tooling for years - carbide compression bits of various sizes and custom insert tooling. They have excellent tooling and excellent customer service. Can't recommend them enough.
