Has anyone have any experience with cnc ?
what you mean"us parts"?
The real problem is support. If the machine goes down can you wait a day, two days, a week, a month for it to be fixed. Getting a part is a small part of the equation.
We purchased a new Limtech Orion last year. 5x10 with a drill block. I have to say that the service that jack provides is incredible. When you call support you get jack the owner of the company day or night. He knows his machines inside and out. He came himself and set our machine up and trained us on it. I would purchase from him again and again. Any issues that we have had were addressed immediately. Very heavy sturdy machine that has helped change our company.
I agree with Bill.
After a short period of time the CNC becomes the heart of production. Going back to how you used to do it is not an option.
We bought a very good italian machine. I was very budget conscience of it at the time. We have been running with it for 4 years and given my time back I would have gone the extra mile and bought more machine. It has paid for itself many times over.
Like Bill, there is no going back. We've been running CNC for almost 20 years. Almost everything flows from it. If it goes down we will quickly grind to a halt. Also like Bill I would buy more machine knowing what I do now. We are saving up for a new machine. I want to have two machines for peak load and as backup. Problem is there are always more places to spend it on then what I have.
Damn, I made the same mistake I so often see here. Than - not then!
For what it is worth... I bought an Orion 510 from Jack several months ago. I have had a few (self induced) problems. I once called Jack on a Saturday and he took my call and was happy to help. Another time he was on an install so it took him an hour or so to get back to me. Just now I texted him a question and he responded within five minutes. That wasn't good enough so I ask him to call me. He called within 20 minutes.
When I started considering a cnc I thought service would be a Limtech weakness, after talking with Jack and some other major makers I felt service was his strongest point. He has proven me right.
I purchased the machine, had it installed, and everything you said about Jack as spot on. I am very happy with the machine, and with Jack. In my opinion it is the best buy in the cnc market today. I went from a big boys point to point to a flat bed router from a smaller company. I have talked to a few other limtech owners and have yet to find one that was the least bit dissatified. I am verey confident that I made the right decision
