Hello all, I am trying to find a push to lock fitting for a Brandt edgebander. The air line size is 8mm but I am stumped on the thread name. It is 10 mm in size but I know is not NPT. Anyone know what the thread type is called? I am sure all the European machines use the same type. Hoping to find it locally.
Most common metric threads are ISO.
Thanks, Dan. I am still unable to find anything using the ISO designation. There has to be another way to find it. Problem is, I don't know what to ask for. Any more ideas anyone? Thank you.
If the threads are more than likely G (British Standard Pipe BSP) thread. If the threads are straight, then is it BSPP thread.
More than likely it is G1/4 of G3/8. You can easily search this online to find out.
I'd take a measurement of the id of the hole. Then go to a hydraulic hose supplier and talk to them about loaning you a couple of fittings for size confirmation.
Thank you all for your responses. Johann, I searched for the G3/8 and found this:
It seems to be what I need, except it says the nominal size is 5mm. The other dimensions seem to match. The only place I could find it on was e-bay, from Honk Kong:
Rolled the dice and ordered two. Not a grat loss if it does not work out. Thank you very much for your input. Cheers!
