Good afternoon.
I'm looking for ideas on holding solid wood on a pod and rail.
Any and all pics/videos/ideas welcomed.
Thanks in advance.

The way we do it most of the time is screwing a closed grain board to the bottom of it, just make sure you have enough material height if you need to undercut. If its flat and you won't see the holes on the underside, that should be ok too. We also use pneumatic vises that mount to the rail via vacuum.

Thanks Ian.
Any pics of the pneumatic vises?

What machine are you running?

The little pod and rail is a Rover 20.
I also have 2 flat table Biesse Arrows and I'm setting one up with fixturing to do solid wood. It's kind of an odd machine because it has a tilting spindle with a C axis and a separate horizontal molding head that can hold a 150 mm wide cutter.

No.
Flat table like this one.
If I find an ATS at a decent price I'd likely get it. I tend to buy broken ones and repair them. Keeps the capital costs down.
