Board cutting yield2/19
I am interested in getting a flat table router so i can nest my own melamine sheets to make cabinet , furniture.....
thank you in advance
Look at this patter (nest) and ask yourself if you could cut this on a saw without tearing your hair out.
The above times 15 to 20 sheets per kitchen times (just guessing) 2 kitchens per month.....
Plus all holes pre-drilled in exactly the right place every time.
Plus the work is being done while you are edgebanding or assembling or having a coffee....
Thank you for your reply
Most guys up here use a cost per sheet, say $25 to $30 per sheet.
Ask your prospective client if he can:
Unload the 4X8 sheets from the delivery
For $25 to $30 per sheet.
It goes both ways. The CNC does create 3 times the sawdust volume. It also creates certain yield issues, for example the beam saw can cut 4 wide x 4 long of an exact 12” x 24" shelves on a 4x8 sheet. On the CNC you can only get 3x3 of the same size. We adjusted our sizes to avoid that. As shown in the pic above, the nest can randomly place parts for the best yield regardless of size. We routinely run 10-15 sheet jobs and the first 14 sheets will have nothing but sawdust for waste and sheet 15 will have a 2x3’ piece of scrap.
