There are two basic ways I see dust collection done in shops...
1) is to have a large central DC that handles most of the larger equipment in the shop. Though in really large shops they may have two or more large DC's.
2) Is to have a bunch of small collectors located close to the equipment they service.
There are of course variations of these where shops may have a large collector and a couple small collectors. However I have never seen a shop where they drag a single collector from machine to machine. That's more like what guys do at home in their garage shops and I would think would lose it's appeal really, really fast in a professional shop?
A couple other thoughts, 100' may be a bit far for a machine on an 8" run.....though we don't know actual distance since you included the bends? Did you lay out your equipment with dust collection in mind? Is it only one machine that is that far away? If so maybe put it on a second collector? My shop is less than half what your working with, but the farthest run from my collector is maybe 30'. I've kept most of my equipment to the end of the shop with dust collection to keep the runs to a minimum. Don't know enough about your setup to offer much more than that.
good luck,
