sliding pipe/dust collection

I saw an interesting way to do dust extraction where the spiral pipe was "slit" the long way and fitted with a gasket material to close the slit. The part that was attached to the router was modified to slice each direct thru the slit. It was shaped like an "eye" in that both side were flattened. It allowed the router to traverse back and forth in a fixed position...does anyone know who makes this? Thanks

That sounds very similar to the system used on our panel saw. There is a rectangular "duct" closed @ the top with thick rubber from both sides. As the dust collection generator moves along it pushes the "boat shaped" connection with it. We recently had to replace the rubber on our Schelling and used some heavy rubber conveyor material for the flaps, works fine.

Do you have any pictures of your system? or know who makes it? Thanks

Curt, Try a search for Zipper Duct. A few manufacturers should pop up.
