Does anyone have any tips for moving a sliding table saw? We've purchased a used saw and we'll be transporting it back to our location. I'm just curious if there is any tips/tricks beyond the obvious common sense practices. Locking the table in place while transporting, etc?
I removed my table when moving mine. I think the vibration could possibly damage the guide ways. Of course this is very dependent on brand and type.
good luck Randy
We locked ours in place, wrapped the end of the slide in carboard and shrink wrapped it, then placed a tarp and straps over it to keep it from moving if the lock came loose. Secured the saw down @ the bottom with chain and boomers.
Unloaded and cutting corian (seaming) within hours of unloading.
Thanks - we were able to safely move the machine after removing the sliding table.
We had tied up the sliding table to prevent it from bumping into other things while moving it.
