Is it okay to have 4"& 5" drops come from the bottom of a 10" main as opposed to coming out of the side? This would eliminate one 45 or 90 elbow at each drop.
I have a similar setup of a few drops coming off the bottom. Personally I would tell you not to do it, the reason is I have a few big chip and dust producers further down the air stream and the down drops fill up with junk and have to be torn apart to get cleaned out every few months. Really sucks because usually I'm in a rush to finish something and have to take time to clean out ductwork. Just my 2 cents.
I have a few saddle drops on the bottom of a trunk. Things further up the line drop in and sometimes clog those. I wouldn't recommend it either.
Like others have said, bad idea.
