Matching needle to nozzle10/8
I seem to have acquired a number of needle and nozzle sets for a few Asturo guns I have. Problem is, the nozzles are marked but the needles are not. Anyone know how to match the sets? The smallest and the largest ones I can get, but some sizes are too close to call. I thought about a digital caliper, but not sure where to measure.
I would hunt each needle to make sure that there are no markings. All of mine are marked, etched.
I believe you want to measure the smallest part of the front tip and order them by size.
My recollection for asturo guns is that you can tell pretty easily which are too small by which ones leave a gap in the nozzle or not.
You can tell which are too large by which tips don't fit all the way to the end of the nozzle.
(Note that if there is no gap, and it sticks out the right amount, you can use it, regardless of whether they are 'matched' or not. The only thing that it changes is how fast/slow the fluid rate changes when you adjust the knob, so ...)
Thanks, good info. I have been just eye-balling the fit, sounds like that is as good as I can get. I was wondering how much of a difference it would really make, say switching a 1.4 needle for a 1.5. Sounds like maybe not much.
