bronze metallic look finish5/2
I have been asked by a commercial client to do some wall dividers that will have a bronze look pattern in the center field of the divider. The pattern is about impossible to do with real brass etc. so I was wondering about some metallic type finish that would be a good substitute. Any suggestions? thanks
Art nouveau or plate all. Plate all is more durable, I believe 30 year outdoor warranty on plate all.
If you're set on finishing it modermasters has lots of metal effect products or you could look at real metal laminates or faux metal laminates.
Modern Masters is good, I've used several of their colors to good effect.
If you require the durability of conversion varnish, add something like Pearl-Ex bronze pigments (avail. on Amazon, not cheap, but it works).
We've done a good bit of Pearl-Ex in clear conversion varnish. My test project was a metalflake clearcoat on my son's wooden monster truck, looks awesome and has held up to his abuse for 6 years now (mixed into MLC Krystal). Since then we've used it to spray cabinets, etc.
Pick a base color that is similar to bronze, the base color gives a MASSIVE amount to the final look.
Play with your powder amounts, and spray carefully. I would not spray it out of an AAA pump, I don't know what the pigment pieces would do to the pump or the tiny orifice in the tips.
Contact 'Seagrave Coatings' in New Jersey, they may have something in their line of coatings.
check out luminore coatings.
luminore is a great product, I have done a lot of work with that coating, I had take an online coarse and test before I was able to purchace it, and spray it.
