Spraying thinned cat laq for sealer coat with fugi semi pro2 using qt.cup.
it could be a number of things but the most likely answer is that a drop of lacquer got past the nozzle then dried leaving the orifice a fraction of its intended size. dip a soft gun cleaning brush in lacquer thinner and clean the drip off.
Build-up on the tip or inside the low pressure line to/inside the cup... I found the one-way valve to be more trouble than its worth and got rid of it a long time ago.
You may also want to check the little air tube going into the cup
Mastercab man hit it.
Gravity gun. Problem solved. You can go real cheap for what you're doing.
why dont you spray a sanding sealer?
Chris makes a good point, sanding sealers are far easier to work with than any top coat.
but in using any cup guns, be it grav or siphon. I have a regiment that I go thru when ever I leave it set for a few minutes or more.
pull off air cap and soak,
put gun back together, and clr the air valve on cup..
I use pps or dekups disposable cups 99% of the time..saves me from having issues from cups getting plugged up.
