Finish for restaurant tables12/6
I am looking for a flexible but durable finish for reclaimed restaurant tables made out of pine and doug fir. Any advice is appreciated.
2k poly is what you're looking for. In terms of flexibility the finish allows ~10mils of movement before cracking, which is double what you get with lacquer based finishes. It's also about as durable a finish you will get.
I tend to use Chemcrafts Verde Chiaro line, although my supplier is going to start distributing Sivam soon, which is a finish directly from italy that is supposed to be really impressive.
I will & can only agree with TYLER as a 2K poly is your best option !!
BUT....to my trial experience, now, more & more company are making VERY good pre-cat , Italian or domestic!
Donít get me wrong, this new generation of advance resins apply to the newer 2K poly as well, meaning, they are still better then pre-cat!!
