PPS Environmental Alternatives7/23
Good morning, just a quick question. I've been using the PPS system for quite a while now as I do multiple color changes daily and weekly with all sizes. If possible, I try to use the lids and liners as many times as I can before they need to be disposed.
I trash them as I see no way that they can be recycled with all the chemicals in them.
We do a great job in terms of recycling waste lacquers, old CV's etc, but have not figured what to do with the PPS. The recycler only accepts liquids.
They are essentially the K-cups of the finishing world :(, never gonna deteriorate.
Has anyone thought of this or found an alternative?
Dump the remaining then let the residue dry and put them in the recycling can?
If they are clean they should be OK to put in the recycle bin. I have no trouble cleaning the cups. Sometimes the screens in the lids get gunked with dried finish, so I pull them off so I can put the lids in the recycle bin.
