Have had a couple customers ask for these. Does anyone know if Sherwin Williams can do these? I am pretty locked into SW because of location.
So long as they have dyes, they should be able to match them in S64
No wizardry there with those colors.... nothing a competent finisher or formulator could not handle either in your shop or at Sherwin...
Sorry. It was the certified part of things I was asking about.
I think the "certified" part relates to having stain colors reviewed and approved by a group of elders within the Amish community. I could be wrong though......
Get them from Richelieu. I have a gallon of nearly each of their colors and MOST of them are some of the best wiping stains I've ever used.
It's not the color, neither I nor my clients give a rip about them being Ohio Certified. From a production standpoint, most of those colors are VERY user friendly for color consistency.
I think they are a Valspar product if you order from Richelieu.
Colors are colors. Anyone can match colors. OCS is a thing. My customers asked for “it”. Specifically OCS.
I obviously know nothing about it. Just looking for directions on what OCS is.
OCS is Ohio Certified Stains.
OCS colors are a standardized line of colors produced by multiple manufacturers. The concept is based on having cabinets or furniture built by assorted companies who might use assorted finish suppliers, but keeping the color consistent between suppliers. Each individual stain company will produce their type of stain, meaning solvent make up, but the color is supposed to be consistent .
