square brass legs end-caps8/16
I'm looking for square brass end caps to finish the legs of a counter. See picture below. These are about 4" tall. I only find small round ones online. Any idea where I might get the larger square ones?
Several years ago I did a piece that required tall brass feet. After exhausting all my normal resources I contacted a friend who is a silversmith and she made me the most beautiful sent of feet out of very heavy brass plate stock. I know there are many sources for period brass feet but all seem to be an inch or inch and a half tall. See if you can find a metal smith or jeweler in your area and in nothing flat you can have feet made exactly to your needs!
Strange that something that seems so common isn't commercially available. Considering cost, it's probably better to propose a whole other model to the client.
Lee Valley sells some cast brass ones, not as tall though. If you want that look exactly, custom making them seems the way to go.
