ideas for tabletop with tiny lights shining through12/9
a client is interested in a gloss black table top with little dots of light shining through. has anyone done something like this and is willing to share.
fiber optic strands, black plex, tiny drilled holes in substrate for each or small group of strands. You'll need to experiment with the plex & the optic fiber to get the intensity they are after.
thanks scott for the suggestions. if you have done this I would love to talk. my concerns are with the finish showing where the pin holes are located because it will be a high gloss finish and all defects will show.
Just a thought...fiber optic or LEDs under veneer. Drill tiny holes in substrate, then veneer. The light will shine through.
The idea you want to implement is a DIY work. If you are looking for gloss black table top, then I do believe that this amazing Magazine Coffee Table product at Zopalo.com will definitely attract you.
Well damn! As a cab and furniture maker,
I would like to tell you that you can use customized sublimation. That will look great at table top.
