Furniture Makers Identification
8/19/15
I'm restoring a desk salvaged from the Edgewater Resort Hotel in Biloxi, MS. which survived Hurricane Katrina, and has moderate water damage.
The Desk, made of White Oak, has turned legs with Oak veneered aprons & top.
There's a Makers decal on one of the interior drawer sides. Can anyone identify this Maker?

Could be Grand Rapids Furniture Manufacturer's Association decal. Lots of companies were members.

Hard to believe it's not on this site. Maybe good reference for the future.

Thanks Rich & Kevin; I've been searching those sites & you're right, there's a lot of information, but no success yet.
I'm still trying to roughly date the piece & have found machined dovetails on the drawer & what appears to be crystallized hide glue in some of the joints.
Thanks for your suggestions & I'll keep looking.

Taylor, how about checking with the historical society. They be willing to do the research for you. Might be a regional maker.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of that one.
I'd like to provide a little broader historical value to the piece when it goes back home. Knowing its maker & their location might just do that, & also help nail down a timeframe of its manufacturing.
