minimum pie cut door size4/7
I am building a new kitchen and am wondering if there is a minimum size door that would work for the left and right side of the bi-fold door? I am crowded for room, but would not want to make a silly or un- usefull pie cut bifiold door system.
We usually make those cabinets 36 x 36, but have done smaller down to about 32 x 32, and at this point the opening is starting to get ridiculous.
Less than 34x34, I would just do a blind corner.
Depending on the space I have done what I call an uneven leg where one side may be as small as 8" + and the hinged side as large as I can make them .
Since all the doors on the base cabinets are not the same size it really looks fine .
I'm with JM, if you're cramped for space, a blind corner may be more useful. Hafele makes some nice hardware for blind corners that utilize the space better than just shelves.
I concur with JM. No point going any smaller. A blind corner and a 6" spice pull out is what I would do, if it next to a stove.
Fredster we often sell 33" x 33" base corners. However our cabinet is frameless and uses a 23 5/8" deep gable
