Edgebanding same as case or doors

Got a debate with a friend. We both mainly build prefin maple boxes. He bands in prefin maple banding. I band in whatever the fronts are. Paint grade gets paint grade, stained gets stained. I realize PVC in a like or matched color is an option but neither of us like it. With the PVC option aside, which do you do?

I match the fronts always.

Mostly we match the fronts. You don`t want to see a big contrast like white or natural maple with dark fronts because it will jump out at you between the fronts.

We always have went with the face color. We just recently started experimenting with leaving them PF-Maple like the interior. Just finished a big Home Show with 3 displays. We left our darkest display's banding PF. This one had the most contrast of all the displays. Cabinets are a dark raw-umber. Over 1000 people looked at the display, opened the doors, Loved It! Not a single negative comment about the PF edgeband. We will likely transition to this as our standard. Much easier!!

We match the doors and fronts. It wouldn't look right for a light natural maple to show between the doors etc.
