CABINET INSTALLER PRICING10/17
Hey guys, just curious to know what is the going rate for " per box" kitchen cabinet installation.
Can anyone help with this?
$65.00 per box is what we pay our subs for installation including trims. Located in North Carolina.
In Hawaii a big box pays 89.00 plus extras. I operate as a general contractor so I get closer to 175.00 plus extras like crown appliance install drywall repair etc.
Most of our 15-20 cabinet jobs go for 1200-1500 install. That includes measurement. Install takes 1.5 -2 days.
There you go... for what it's worth, the "going rate" is anywhere from $65 - $175/box plus extras... that ought to narrow it down for you...
If that doesn't tell you it's irrelevant what others charge, it matters what you need to charge to be in business, really can't think of another way to make it any clearer...
The OP asked a legitimate question and he was polite about it. He got some useful information so it was worth asking.
Cabmaker, as was my response both polite and direct... don't know how it could be read another way...
As to it being legitimate, that's a perspective, but it's legitimacy is reliant on it being a prudent strategy in developing pricing... while those who responded provided their range, from different markets BTW, how does that in any way help him determine what he needs to charge when the range was so wide, in a different market and he has no idea the make-up of their business? Especially if he wants to make $75-$100K/year and others might be happy making less? And that is only ONE metric that pricing encompasses...
Been where he's at, and rather than let him waste years and lost money on a pricing strategy that relies on a "going rate" instead of charging what he needs to charge to be in business, and focus his customer acquisition on finding people that can support his business and the income he wants to make...
Just another perspective to the last few posts it just might be that the op knows what he needs to make on the job but just doesn't want to leave money on the table. The last thing we want to be is the guy who's undercutting everyone else and dosen't realize it.
In Central Florida, for semi custom cabinets i pay subs $35/box, fill, or 8' stick of molding. Extra if they deliver pieces. I charge $75-85 which is inline with big box stores.
20-25% of the cabinetry cost for high end in San Francisco and Marin County if a contractor/architect/PM/and designer is involved.
I agree that prices will differ from state to state. I live in CT and I am an installer. I get $65. a cabinet anything more like crown fillers etc. are extras.
Yep, Fl seems to be a lower cost market, wish it was not so. We avoid the low end (rta's) and focus on mid to upper mid projects done well.
