Wilsonart 6277 'Alumasteel'5/26
Has anyone worked with this? I have a job that calls for it, without backer, and my concerns are routing it, substrate variances telegraphing through it.
Any input is much appreciated. Thanks.
Also, am I able to use contact cement to bond it?
I don't know if I have used that exact color. But in general for metal laminate,If you are going to buy it laminated to board it will probably be ok. If you are going to use loose laminate you need to get phenolic backed material or you will regret it as some of it creases really easily and is hard to get to stay laminated with contact cement especially on a radius.
Thanks Pat. It's for several plumbing enclosures with some odd angles that will have to be laminated piece by piece, hence my concerns about the workability.
On double checking it doesn't specify backer or not, but regardless (fortunately), it's out of stock. Trying to find a suitable replacement at the moment...
FYI - Most Wilsonart® Decorative Metals are sold with a phenolic backer for non-forming applications.
