Hot press info3/15
Looking for some info on hot presses.
How much time would you typically press 1/8" mdf onto a 1-1/4" Particle board?
Also then 1/16" hardwood veneer?
Would it be worth while to stack boards in the platten or just do a single row?
Looking at whether a hot press would be fast enough to laminate parts or go for something else like a large rf press.
What are good names to look for? Joos, italpresse?
It all depends on the temperature and pressure;at a normal pressure around 2 kg/cm2,we usually press 3mm MDF (1/8") in 3 min-3min 30 sec at 105ºC (221ºF);For regular you have enough time in 1 min 45 sec.If you can increase pressure, the time will also be shorter
Would also be pressing with a PVA glue. parts usually 5" wide
