Laminate with roundover and finished edge12/7
I've had a couple of requests for this lately and don't know how to approach it.
The idea is a linoleum or plastic top on a baltic birch or painted subtstrate. The top needs a bit of a roundover and the substrate is relieved back from the edge.
I guess the way to do it is to paint or clear coat the substrate and then apply the laminate and trim. My concerns are twofold:
1. How to trim the laminate and not damage the paint or other finish on the edge of the substrate
2. How to get a perfectly straight edge while trimming.
I'm a cnc guy and the thought of trimming by hand scares me to death.
Any ideas on how to make this work well?
Are you wanting to do just the top roundover? if so, do you know what the radius is?
