Anyone have any luck duplicating rough sawn texture on material without a giant saw mill? Any tips, or clues on where to start off? Any help is greatly appreciated
Drag planks backward diagonally across a coarse bandsaw blade. Works like a charm.
The band saw works if you want band sawn look but if you want it to look like it came off a circular saw, I used a disk sander and touched it down on an angle in a random saw like pattern. The client loves it . I lightly sanded after to make it just right.
If you are looking for that rough circular sawn effect, I've got an interesting idea.
If your table saw bearings are really bad you get substantial saw marks. I'm thinking that if you put a very thin metal shim on edge of the washer & nut it would put a minor wobble in the blade. A 10"x 24 tooth rip blade should give a rough finish.
