Scmi 16n sliding table saw major moving issues

We just bought an scmi 16n sliding table saw used and are currently transporting it in a 26’ Penske with a bunch of other tools we bought. When we drove from MA to GA to buy it we were told it was palletized and ready to move. Of course we got here and it wasn’t but we had already made the trip spent the money etc. the slider extension was removed before we got there and we have found that now the slider won’t lock and stop sliding and it’s obviously making transporting super difficult and we are now behind over a day because we keep having to stop and buy new straps because the slider moves and shears them off multiple times a day. Any ideas on either how to lock it without the slider extension on or how to strap it down so it doesn’t slide and sheer off???

Use wood shims between the slider and the races at each end. If wood shims aren't an option try paper or cardboard wedges and tap into place until they're snug.

Buy some 1/4" steel cable and u-clamps instead of fabric strapping? C-clamp 2 pieces of 4x4 to the saw rail to capture the table on the slide, plus the cable? Wedge 2x4s from the floor up to the table and c-clamp those to the slide.

Definitely use folding wedges between the beam and underside of the table to prevent bearing damage on a long trip. Are you strapping the ends of the table fore and aft to the truck as your second photo suggests? If so, ditch that idea and wrap the straps around the beam and table. Multiple wraps of gaffer's tape will accomplish the same thing. Make sure you have it secured before proceeding as damage to the sliding mechanism will make the saw useless.

Also use the built in table lock. It is the little lever you can see in the second photo near the wall. Or near the operator position. Sliders like this have a lock so that it doesn’t slide with loading material.

Skip cheap straps. You need to use enough rope to keep it from moving. When you get done it should look like a spider did the job.
